FEAN started as a musical artist-in-residence project in a little church in the Frysian village Katlyk. The group consists of Jan Kleefstra, Romke Kleefstra, Mariska Baars and Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek), who also form the quartet Piiptsjilling. Video of the Dutch artist Johan van Aken, inspired by and made for the music of Piiptsjilling, the album by Machinefabriek (laptop, guitar, effects), Jan Kleefstra (words, voice), Romke Kleefstra (guitar) and Mariska Baars (guitar). Piiptsjilling was published in 2008 by Onomatopee. The video was presented at the Frisian Film Festival 2008.
