On the eve of its 40th birthday, we celebrate Joy Division’s iconic Unknown Pleasures. We play the album out in its entirety, from vinyl of course. Across the show we hear about how the record has inspired new generations of musicians including Jehnny Beth and Lonelady. Joy Divisions Debütalbum vor 40 Jahren: „Unknown Pleasures“ – In die DNA der Popmusik eingeschrieben

Am 14. Juni 1979, vor 40 Jahren, erschien das Album „Unknown Pleasures“ der britischen Band „Joy Division“, die sich um den Sänger Ian Curtis gegründet hatte. Die Scheibe gilt heute als Meilenstein der Popgeschichte. Die Songs vermitteln noch immer eine große Energie und Kraft und hat Generationen von Musikern geprägt.
