Most of my adult life has been spent experimenting with pigment behaviour. I originally worked with watercolour, a medium in which pigment characteristics are most apparent. But it was the fluid work of Paul Jenkins and more recently Holten Rowers that inspired me to try something new and to explore fluid acrylics as a vehicle to create pigment effects. Having long known that pigments have different characteristics, I use the viscosity of fluid acrylics to harness their power to attract or repel each other as they vie for position in a flowing journey of evolving patterns.

Keine Angst, aber er ist ein unangenehmer Gedanke – hauptsächlich deshalb, weil es immer mehr Menschen geben wird, von denen man endgültig Abschied nehmen muss. Den eigenen Tod finde ich eigentlich nicht so schlimm. Das passiert dann halt, und man hofft, dass das Sterben nicht wehtun wird. Man könnte auch vermuten, dass der Tod durch die Todesfälle von nahen Menschen zu etwas geworden ist, von dem ich mir denke: Das überlebt man eh. Das klingt vielleicht komisch, aber seit ich meiner Mutter beim Sterben zugesehen habe, hab ich weniger Angst vor dem Tod. Die war manchmal bei Bewusstsein, aber meistens war sie in ihrer Kindheit. Einmal hat sie mich angeredet, als wär ich ihr Vater. Da spielt einem der eigene Körper vor dem Tod offenbar noch einen schönen Film vor, das macht das Sterben leichter, darauf hoffe ich. – https://datum.at/das-leben-ist-wie-unheilbar-krank/
